So… You got an idea for an Android app, you are ready to code and, upon creating a new project, you got a choice, with dozens of versions ranging from 1.x to 4.x (as of this post). Which one should you choose? Which one is best? – you go too low and you risk using functionality that is not backward-supported by the newer versions. You go too high – you risk losing customers because they are on a lower version.
Luckily there is a chart you can access which, while it may not tell you the whole story, will certainly tell you the latest trend. The chart provides data collected over a two-week period at about a month ago.
The most used version of Android is available directly from Android Developer website.
